Your new patient treatment steps

When you arrive for your first appointment, we welcome you and help you begin to feel at home. We invite you to wait in our comfortable seating area and may ask you to fill in some forms to enable us to tailor our care to your needs.

We invite you into the surgery to begin your new patient appointment. It is a slightly longer appointment than your subsequent ones will be, as we take time to get to know you. We check you are feeling fit and well, and ask if you have any concerns or questions for us.

We carefully examine all areas of your mouth, looking for any areas of gum disease, decay or other issues. We also carry out an oral cancer screening.

We explain our findings with you, and create your personalised treatment plan if further treatment is required. We also give you some tips and advice for your oral hygiene routine at home, including the use of interdental brushes if applicable. You can be assured your oral health is in safe hands!
